Our Autism Tree team had an incredible day connecting with the bright minds of San Diego State University! We spent the afternoon at Scripps Cottage for the Psi Chi and Psychology Club Information Fair, and the energy was electric.

It was truly inspiring to meet so many students majoring in Psychology, Child Development, and Speech-Language Pathology who are passionate about making an impact in the neurodiversity field. We loved sharing the mission of Autism Tree and discussing how our programs and services support the community.

To everyone who stopped by our booth: thank you! We are eager to welcome new interns and volunteers into the Autism Tree family. Your dedication is what helps our community thrive.

A special shout-out to past Autism Tree Intern, Kyla Tadina, for the invitation! We love our SDSU Aztecs and can’t wait to see these future professionals in action. ❤️

Talking about psychology through Star Trek with fellow nerdy academics at WonderCon 2026 March 27-29 feels like living in the best kind of alternate timeline. 🖖

From exploring the mind of Khan to imagining Starfleet Academy as a place where curiosity, ethics, and growth matter, these conversations remind me why stories and fandom are such powerful tools for understanding ourselves.

Grateful to share the stage with brilliant colleagues and an amazing Trek community. See you at the Academy.

Thursday Therapy Tips Our Oasis Community Podcast 🌿

Hey friends 🤍 as someone once study and now teaches psychology and also doing my own healing work, I just wanted to share a few books that are really speaking to me right now:

📘 Dónde Empezar by Mental Health America, illustrated by Gemma Correll, feels like that gentle first step when you’re trying to understand anxiety, depression, and where to even begin.

🎒 Cómo Vaciar Tu Mochila Emocional by Ana Criado reminds me that we all carry emotional weight and healing is about slowly unpacking it with compassion.

🔥 Decolonizing Therapy by Jennifer Mullan is stretching me to think about oppression, historical trauma, and how therapy can be more just and aware.

🌱 Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving by Pete Walker has been powerful in understanding trauma patterns and learning practical ways to move toward thriving.

I’m also exploring the newer books by Don Miguel Ruiz for spiritual wisdom and personal responsibility on the healing path.

If you’re here, you’re here to learn and grow 🌿✨

Just a loving reminder: this page and podcast are for education and reflection only this is not therapy or medical advice. Please always follow the guidance of your medical and mental health professionals.

And yes, I am a therapist but I am not your therapist. 🤍

Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romantic love 🤍 it’s about the friends who remember your coffee order, send “text me when you’re home,” sit with you in silence, and hype you up like it’s their full-time job.

Love languages aren’t just for relationships — our friends speak them fluently too. Acts of service, quality time, words of affirmation, little gifts, tight hugs.

Platonic love deserves flowers too 🌷✨
