In a new interview with @talktheatretome, Broadway San Diego Awards Artistic Director @joeytheatreguru talks about the start of the 2027 @broadwaysdawards season and the opportunities available to students both onstage and behind the scenes.

This year, Broadway San Diego is once again partnering with the @sdtheatrecriticscircle to highlight its Reviewers of Tomorrow initiative, along with the Jimmy Awards Student Reporter Search, giving aspiring young writers, journalists, photographers and content creators an opportunity to cover high school musical theatre and potentially take their work all the way to New York City.

Oh no....Only 2 more performances of @your_unconscious_mind?!?! See you tonight (4/18) and tomorrow (4/19) at 7:30 pm, or purchase at the door for $20. Performances are all in Studio One, so be sure to leave a little extra time to park in the large lot at 340 N. Escondido Blvd., near the pool and watch for the signs to lead you to the Surrealist Magic! ✨ This interactive, immersive comic Edutainment was the very first theatrical piece, ever commissioned by the @cityofescondido, and we've been so proud to share it with our community and patrons, whove traveled from all over the state! Come dressed in your pajamas, and take home the Surrealist Masterpiece of your dreams...Last night, one of our patrons told me unironically, "I wish that everyone in the United States could experience this show!" One of our reasons for writing and staging this work was to spread joy to as many people as possible, when many are currently experiencing challenges...Art gives us to strength to keep going! 😍👍💯💕⭐🎉We're so grateful for the @theccae, who believed in this dream, enough to become our collaborator, and they've been fantastic! Hope to see you soon, my dreamers!👁️

📰 Strange Snow reviews are in! 🧢 Don’t miss Stephen Metcalfe’s heartfelt wounded warrior story playing thru April 19 at PowPAC! Full quotes below & links in bio ⬆️

“Metcalfe’s character drama on life after Vietnam is a moving story about the ties that bind us. PowPAC’s production is not to be missed.” - @bymakaylahoppe, To See or Not to See & @sdtheatrecriticscircle
.
.
.
“I highly recommend this production. The acting was superb, I was so completely wrapped up in the characters I forgot I was watching a play! And just as impressive was the set. Beautiful! The lighting, the mood it set brought the whole thing over the top! I am done gushing....GO SEE IT!” - Toni Whitley, PowPAC Season Ticket Holder

.
.
“The synergy and credibility of the relationships between all three was nothing short of magical.” - Eva Trieger, San Diego Jewish World
.

.
“This is an all volunteer community theater, but the three actors were good and experienced, and the play itself, which premiered at the Old Globe in the 1980s, was funny, moving, funny, thought-provoking, funny, and cathartic.” - PowPAC First Timer

There’s something so special about the Craig Noel Awards happening on Equity Stage Manager Day 🤗🖤✨🎭

Yes this is an award ceremony, but for me it’s the one night every year I get to see friends I haven’t seen in a while 🥹 And I will admit it’s pretty cool when, for the second year in a row, a show you worked on wins Best Resident Musical 🤩 But by far my favorite parts of the night were cheering on my friends and when the critics acknowledged that it was Equity Stage Manager Day and had all the stage managers in the room stand up to thunderous applause 🥰 Let’s keep that same energy going and give more shout outs to stage managers please and thank you 🙌 The 2025 theatre season was incredible! Thank you to the San Diego Critics Circle for organizing another fabulous night for all of us 🥂 And congratulations to all the nominees and winners, especially to my What The Constitution Means To Me, Oklahoma, and Follies teams 💛💚🩵
