THE TRAIL BOSS FINALLY HAS THE STANCE I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR. 👊

Today we headed over to @sdtireandwheel on Miramar Road, because when it comes to tires, rotations, alignments, or upgrades I don’t have the tools to handle myself, these are the guys I trust with my truck.

Today’s upgrade?

Our new 1.5-inch wheel spacers from @evil_energy_autoparts .

I’ve been wanting to change the stance of the Silverado for a while. The truck looked good, but I wanted the wheels pushed out just enough to give it a wider, more aggressive look and add a little more pop from the wheel wells.

1.5 inches did exactly what I wanted.

It’s not some massive modification.

But sometimes the smaller changes completely change the way a truck sits.

Huge shoutout to our partners at EVIL ENERGY for sending these over and continuing to support the Trail Boss build. We’ve got a lot more planned as we get this truck ready for desert season.

And another huge shoutout to the guys at SD Tire & Wheels Miramar for always taking care of us.

They have multiple locations throughout San Diego, but the Miramar crew has earned my business and that’s where I continue taking the Trail Boss.

TIME TO GIVE THE TRAIL BOSS A MORE AGGRESSIVE STANCE. 👊

Huge shoutout to our newest partner, @evil_energy_autoparts , for sending over a set of their 1.5-inch wheel spacers for the Silverado.

I’ve loved the way this truck has been coming together, but one thing has always bothered me: the stance.

It looks good.

I want it to look more aggressive.

With desert season coming up, we’re continuing to build this truck into something that not only looks the part but gets used the way a Trail Boss should.

The 1.5-inch spacers will push the wheels out and give us the wider stance I’ve been looking for without changing the entire wheel setup.

Next stop is SD Tire & Wheel to rotate the tires, install the spacers, and see just how much of a difference 1.5 inches makes.

Appreciate EVIL ENERGY for jumping on board with the Trail Boss Dad build.

There’s something about seeing a build come together at night.

Huge shoutout to @anzousa , @mandrautomotive , @auxbeamlighting and @cavalier.lighting for helping bring the front end of the Trail Boss to life. Headlights, ditch lights, grille lighting, and enough output to make sure the trail doesn’t disappear when the sun goes down.

I’m building this truck to be used, not just parked and photographed. More upgrades, more installs, and plenty of dirt coming.

You don’t have to drive hours into the wilderness to make unforgettable family memories.

This weekend, my family and I loaded up the truck and headed to Paso Picacho Campground, just south of Julian, for a quick getaway with some family friends.

If you’ve never camped here before, it’s definitely worth adding to your list.

The campground was quiet, clean, and family-friendly. One of the highlights of the weekend was sitting under the stars and watching the meteor shower light up the night sky. We also spent time fishing, exploring the area, and simply slowing down for a few days.

A few things that stood out:

✅ Clean restrooms and hot showers
✅ 24-hour park ranger presence
✅ Great hiking trails nearby
✅ Peaceful campsites surrounded by nature
✅ Family-friendly atmosphere
✅ Easy escape from the city without a long drive

Sometimes the best adventures aren’t the biggest ones. They’re the weekends where the phones stay in the tent, the kids stay outside, and the memories happen naturally around the campsite.

That’s what Trail Boss Dad is all about.

Trail Report: Bear Valley Road 🚙🌲

This weekend we set out to explore Bear Valley Road, entering from Buckman Springs Road off Interstate 8 East.

Everything was going great until we got about 1.5 miles up the trail and were met with a locked gate and detour, forcing us to turn around and find another route.

While it wasn’t the adventure we originally planned, it’s a good reminder that trail conditions and access can change at any time. Always check local closures, carry offline maps, and have a backup plan before heading out.

The boys were a little disappointed, but that’s part of the experience. Sometimes the best memories come from adapting, exploring somewhere new, and spending quality time together outdoors.

Camping weekend loading… ⛺️🔥

Spent the day checking the tent, organizing gear, topping off supplies, and knocking out the checklist before we roll out tomorrow. Nothing fancy. Just family time, preparation, and getting the truck ready for another weekend outdoors.

The older I get, the more I realize these trips are less about escaping and more about creating memories the kids will actually remember.
