I did a thing. The Go Go Radio Magic Show (CJLO in Montreal) interviewed me about Mt.St.Mtn., the early days Omnibus Records, various music and art scenes, pre-teen/teenage influences, youth culture and underground art and more. A storied two hour two parter with tons of music.

Hey, I don’t wanna hear myself talk for five minutes let alone two hours but the fine folks at GGRMS always put together thoughtful interviews (see the recent Julian Never and Wind Ups chats) and are far too kind.

Seablite R.I.P. - photos from their final show at The Make-Out Room in SF Friday night…was mostly running audio/video which at some point will feature online. Hadn’t seen very much in December but this was one I didn’t want to miss!

It’s been a good ride (or um, swim?) We were there at the beginning (scroll to the end for baby blites), came out while we were temporarily in MA, and even saw them play with Birdie in London (what a dream show!) Of course you always support your friends, but it’s made very easy when they are such lovely people and come together to create truly fab tunes.

We will miss you @seabliteband! But we know you’ll all keep doing the good things you do 🐬

Seablite are playing a farewell show in San Francisco tonight. Nine years as a band, and I only caught on around halfway through. But I’m grateful for the half-dozen shows I got to see, and for the music they released, including Lemon Lights, their second and final album. I’m sure I’ll have more to say after tonight’s finale, but for now I’ll just soak myself in their gauzy sounds until it’s time to make the scene.

If you care about San Francisco music even a little bit, you need to be at this show. Seablite—one of the absolute best bands our city has produced in the last decade—is playing their farewell show this Friday, December 5th at the Make-Out Room. This is your last chance to catch them, and trust me, you don’t want to miss it.

They’ve spent ten years leading the charge of the SF indie-pop renaissance, fusing Manchester Britpop shimmer with our own fog-drenched dreaminess. Every release, every show—Seablite has been consistently top-tier. Their absence is going to leave a real hole in the scene.

And the rest of the lineup? Completely stacked.

If you love jangly, heartfelt indie pop played with real energy and precision, then you need to catch The Umbrellas live. Their new material hits even harder on stage, and this is the perfect chance to hear it the way it was meant to be heard.

And opener April Magazine turns the entire room into a hazy, beautiful dream—lofi, ethereal, effortless in the best way possible.

Plus the Cool as Fuck DJs will be keeping the vibe perfect all night long.

If you love indie pop, this might genuinely be your show of the year. It’s a snapshot of everything magical, foggy, and resurgent about Bay Area indie rock music right now, and that’s why this is White Crate’s Show of the Week.
