The 31’ Bertram “Exact” was part of my Ohana since the day I was born and I grew up on her back deck. The “Exact” was a very Fishy Boat and got bit like no other. She graciously blessed me with my first Pelagic Fish and my Daughters as well. She showed me some of my best days Offshore and I’m sure everyone else that’s ever Fished her, you know who you are, still have a special place for her in their hearts and memories. Losing a Boat that you Love takes a Big part of you with it and only time heals. She deserves a send off for all she’s done in her time. Last night, the Maui Lifeguards and Ohana celebrated Cary Kayama’s retirement after 29 years of service. We gifted Cary this beautiful Koa wood replica of our Lifeguard Rescue Tube to honor his unwavering dedication and service to the Maui community.
