One year later, and what started with “Santa, Please” quickly evolved into a full-scale, original Christmas album.

I am so blessed and grateful to be part of the ‘Swoon’ team — @ryan_peter_murphy @dusan.wav @harryscutt (and our coach @gallimgmt)
It’s hard to put into words what this past year has been. Months of writing, an entire summer spent recording and producing, and 24/7 days bringing these songs to life. Being able to contribute as a pianist, songwriter, and arranger throughout the process has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career, and equally challenging.

A special thanks to the additional songwriters —@thezecavaco @aprillsutherland @iamashmusic and @deanweaver_ for helping write on “I Know Santa’s Real”/“Gift You Are to Me”/“The Star” “Snowed In”/ & “H.O.M.E”
And another very special thanks to all the wonderful musicians who poured their talent and expertise into every recording session!

A huge thank you to the phenomenal @callumau for bringing the arrangements and orchestrations to life @famesproject 🎻 @britishgrovestudios 🎺

We set out to create something that felt both timeless and new, and I couldn’t be prouder of the result.

This was the first (and almost the last) stop motion short I ever made. It was in 2010, years before Instagram. My resources were very limited. I found a book on claymation from Amazon. I didn’t know any animators and I didn’t have any means to get in touch with any. I had an old digital camera with no live view, no dragon frame software and no animation training. On top of that, I didn’t have much of a story idea either. But I wanted to make something so I moved forward. I had lots of questions and no answers. The process was extremely tedious and long. I was so disappointed with the results that I gave up animation for 11 years

In late 2021 I had an idea for a Lego stop motion music video for our @letsbebees song “simple machines”. A lot had happened in the world in 11 years. I found that I had so many more resources. I started finding amazing animators on Instagram and I could reach out and actually get advice and questions answered! I felt like I had a path forward. This is one of the rare positives about social media. Thank you to anyone who helped me along the way. I look forward to continuing down this crazy animation path!

Surprise !! Something random something cool 😎 My new song Never Have I Ever will be out everywhere on APRIL 30th! This song is a hyper-pop, dance, house song that is for an upcoming project… BUT I am releasing it under my name first 😉Here is a break from the sad indie folk 😛

The time has FINALLY come!! All I Want is out everywhere you stream your music!!!

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in the making of this record. I feel so fortunate to make music with my friends. Community is invaluable to me and I couldn’t have imagined the incredible people that would surround me today when I originally sat down with my guitar and started writing this song.

I especially want to say thank you to @lune_aquiline for bringing my song to life. You are the most incredible engineer, producer, and person I know. Thank you for being the best partner throughout this whole process. The music you make is magical and I feel so fortunate that you chose to take my song into your care. It wouldn’t be what it is without you 🤍

I wrote All I Want almost 3 years ago just a couple weeks before going off to college, and now I’m releasing it forth into the world just two months before I graduate. Thank you to everyone who is here with me during this full circle moment! During my time here in Boston I’ve changed and grown so much, in ways that are so similar yet different to the changes I explore in this song.

Now without further ado, I will end my sentimental word soup so you can go stream the song now!!

With all the love in my heart,
Ren 🫶🏻🌿✨

I had such a great time seeing my friends in LA and at NAMM. This trip was full of great conversation, meeting new friends, and sessions with talented people — I’m honestly still processing it all. Shoutout to everyone for making LA feel like a second home. I’ll be back soon ❤️
