I was really happy to be part of a special gathering at Lisnawully Farm with the legendary Irish artist Jim Fitzpatrick and his son, Raymond. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate Irish art, history and culture.

The day was held in support of the campaign to protect Cú Chulainn’s Castle and its surrounding landscape. The campaign was started by Nicola Bishop, whose petition has united thousands of people who want to preserve one of Ireland’s most important heritage sites. Anthony Murphy of Mythical Ireland and Gerry O’Connor have also played a huge role in raising awareness and bringing the community together behind the cause.
Gerry had only just returned from his tour in the United States and, unfortunately, wasn’t able to attend this gathering.

It was a pleasure to spend time with Anthony Murphy from Mythical Ireland, Jinx Lennon, Padraig Cumiskey, Bob from Irish Trees, Seandotcom, who attended with his girlfriend and friends, Aoife from The Dundalk Dolls, a member of The Cooleys, and many other inspiring guests.

Jinx Lennon also added something special to the day by singing and playing guitar, bringing even more character and energy to the gathering.

One of my favourite moments was seeing a young artist Kyle Cumiskey present Jim with one of his own drawings of Cú Chulainn castle. Ciaran, huge fan of Jim and cofounder of @celticclaysireland gave Jim a few of beautiful handmade pieces of pottery. They were thoughtful gifts that showed just how much Jim’s work has inspired people over the years.

A big thank you to Sally Cox, the owner of Lisnawully Farm, for looking after everyone with tea, coffee and sandwiches, and for creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Thank you also to Bob from IrishTrees.ie, who helped prepare the tea and coffee.

It was a day full of great conversations, laughter, music, stories and creativity. I left feeling inspired and grateful to have met so many talented and passionate people.

The hot day finished up in @_mochara with a cold drink and some bite to eat.

Thank you to everyone who made the day so special.

Astory Media was proud to be there to capture these moments and share this story.
