Last weekend the class of 2023 officially graduated from CMU! These seniors were instrumental in leading the team through some challenging and unprecedented times. You will all be missed, and we can’t wait to see what great things you do out in the world!

honestly its been kind of scary to process but im officially retired from swimming 🫡

part of me wishes things ended differently but everything i value most in swimming i have already achieved over the years, and im endlessly grateful for everyone who supported me. there were so many lows but none of them outshined the best moments.
i had the best time dedicating everything to this sport and im so lucky to be passionate about something as much as i am. ill miss swimming and ill forever cherish all the memories made from it ❤️

onto the next chapter we go 😼🥊🥊😎👀

Amazing first day for the Tartans! In all, two school records were set, several people swam the second fastest times in school history, and many more top 10 swims. Check out the highlights! Back in action tomorrow morning at 10:30 with the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 back, and 100 breast.

ONE WEEK until NCAAs! Let’s meet three more national teamers: Sean, Kierstyn, and Matt!

SEAN REAM did not get to cap his breakout 2021 season with a trip to nationals due to the pandemic, despite ranking 3rd in the country in the 200 butterfly with a CMU pool + school record time. In 2022 he backed it up, helping the 400 medley relay to a school record and achieving the qualifying standards in both butterfly events.

KIERSTYN CASSIDY is another senior making her first Nationals after steady improvement throughout her time as a Tartan. A very dedicated trainer and hard worker; in a classic Kierstyn moment, it was her second mile in just eight days where she turned in the second fastest 1650 free in school history and punched her ticket to NCAAs!

MATT NAGLER gets his second invitation and first trip to NCAAs. A longtime relay go-to, Matt ranks 8th and 5th in CMU history in the 50 and 100 freestyles, respectively. As a freshman at UAAs, he became the first Tartan to record a sub-20 second split in the 50 free! Matt is also active outside the pool as a member of the Plaidvocates, a student-athlete-led health and advocacy committee at CMU.
