First Light on Morro Rock
A volcanic plug offshore from Morro Bay Harbor, Morro Rock is one of a long string of remnant volcanoes between Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo. The rock itself is protected as a state preserve, home to peregrine falcons, cormorants and tide pool creatures. To me, it was just my home for awhile, having the pleasure of hearing the sea lions barking at all hours of the day and night from my little beach shack while studying architecture at Cuesta Community College and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
