“Drawing on his experience in consulting and selling electrical preventive maintenance agreements across multiple industry segments, he has been tireless at trying to sell electrical contractors on shifting some of their efforts away from competitively bid construction contracts toward what he calls the three pillars to higher valuation: multi-year EMP agreements, increased negotiated project work, and predictable recurring revenue.” – Fred Sargent on Sean Samson

Thank you so much for reading our ‘getting to know you’ segments all week of everybody involved for the upcoming show! We are going to finish this series off with ‘TRIPSIDE’!!

TRIPSIDE was formed in the summer of 1997 when childhood friends Adam Marra (guitar) and Dave Warner (bass) decided to start a new band after their previous groups, The Deep End and Toybox, had come to an end.

Joining them were Tommy Deakins (guitar) from The Deep End, Joe Gerbasi (drums) from The Hit Men, along wit Don Bromeier (vocals) from Toybox. Together, they set out to create a band centered around the “modern rock” sound that was dominating the late ‘90s.

With Cleveland’s 107.9 The End providing endless inspiration, TRIPSIDE built a live show featuring songs from bands like Goo Goo Dolls, LIVE, Green Day, The Offspring, 311, Sugar Ray, and Rusted Root.

The origin of the name TRIPSIDE came from drummer Joe Gerbasi just one week before the band’s debut show at Cebars on East 185th Street in November 1997!

From there, the band became a fixture on the Cleveland music scene, playing clubs and venues including: Cebars, Rynos, Backstreet Café, Fagans (The Flats), Gatsby’s, Muldoons (Dagwoods), Phantasm, The Avenue, The Boathouse (Put-in-Bay).

TRIPSIDE also rocked local festivals such as the East 185th Street Festival and the Feast of the Assumption in Little Italy.

In 2002, drummer Joe Gerbasi decided to leave the group and was replaced by ‘Snack -n- Cakes’ drummer Seam Samson.

A few years later, after an incredible run, the band wrapped things up in 2005 as everyone pursued new interests.

In 2011, all members of TRIPSIDE reunited for what was intended to be a one-night-only show. The response was overwhelming—and since then, TRIPSIDE has reunited every few years for special performances that have been an absolute blast.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years, and we are still keeping this thing rolling and having an amazing time!!!

Catch TRIPSIDE live at The Local in Strongsville on July 25th for a great night of 90’s/Early 2000’s Rock and high-energy entertainment—you won’t want to miss it!

On Today's 'Getting to Know You' - we wanted to feature the actual venue that this awesome event on July 25th is happening at. Today, we feature “The Local” in Strongsville !!
When owners Rick, Mike, and Kevin opened The Local in April 2021, they had one simple goal: create a neighborhood venue where everyone feels welcome. Their vision was to combine a relaxed, inviting atmosphere with great food, exceptional service, and some of the best live entertainment Northeast Ohio has to offer.
It's a formula that has clearly worked.
Over the years, The Local has become a favorite destination for live music fans, hosting an impressive lineup of Cleveland-area artists including Boaterhead, 1988, Disco Inferno, Post Road, Hair Nation, Three Day Weekend, The Spazmatics, Tricky Dick & The Cover Ups, Big In Japan, Billy Morris, Country Redford, Trailer Park Ninjas, The Tea Bags, KC & Company, Bronx Country, Vinyl Arcade, Jam Machine, Custard Pie, Old Skool, and many more.

As its popularity continued to grow, The Local expanded in September 2024, taking over the neighboring space to add a full performance stage, additional seating, and an extended bar—making room for even more fans to enjoy the entertainment.
Of course, a great venue is about more than just music. The Local is known for its outstanding bartenders and servers, who consistently make every guest feel like a regular. Friendly service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere have become hallmarks of the experience.
There's always something happening, from live bands every weekend to trivia nights and karaoke throughout the week. The kitchen serves food daily from 11:00 AM until 1:30 AM, making it one of the few places where you can grab a great meal late into the evening. Add in popular food specials, craft beer, plenty of TVs for the big game, outdoor patio seating, bar games, and free on-site parking, and it's easy to see why The Local has become one of the area's favorite gathering spots.

On Today's 'Getting to Know You' - we have an extremely talented group of folks helping us with production for this show on July 25th! We’d like to introduce you to them.:
Kelly Funk, photographer extraordinaire, and more!
This didn't really start as a business—Kelly kind of fell into it.
A couple of years ago, Kelly went to The Cove with some friends and took a few pictures of 1988. A few months later, Kelly returned alone to see Metal Edge (now Hair Nation) and started photographing them. Their setlist stood out because they played bands like Iron Maiden—songs you didn't hear many cover bands perform at the time.
As Kelly got to know the band, lasting friendships were formed. Honestly, Kelly owes a lot of this journey to them. They opened the door, gave Kelly opportunities to learn, and even served as willing "guinea pigs" while Kelly honed photography skills 🙂.
Before long, photographing live bands became an adrenaline rush. There was something special about capturing the energy of a live performance that made Kelly fall in love with concert photography.
Photography itself has been a passion since high school, back when film cameras were still the norm. Over the years, Kelly's dad encouraged that passion by buying those first camera kits, leading to years spent photographing landscapes and wildlife.
Eventually, though, Kelly realized that photographing people in their element—and capturing genuine crowd reactions and candid moments—was far more rewarding.
Today, the favorite part of the job is showing every band as the larger-than-life performers they are on stage. Kelly also loves capturing the excitement and joy these artists bring to their fans.

Thank you to every band, venue, friend, and fan who's been part of this journey. Here's to many more shows and memories to come!

On Today’s ‘Getting to Know You’ - we have an extremely talented group of folks helping us with production for this show on July 25th! We’d like to introduce you to them.:

Joe Uhase, lightman extraordinaire!!!!!!

Joe’s journey in live production began in 1976 when he was a roadie for the band Street Legal. One night, their lighting technician was out sick, and Joe was asked to run the lights. What started with just eight PAR cans and a simple lighting board quickly became a lifelong passion.

Mentored by Greg Stevens, Joe began building his own lighting equipment, eventually expanding to an 80 PAR can lighting rig with multiple control boards. He later joined the band Savage, where his production experience continued to grow.

Joe eventually teamed up with Tony and Mike to form Savage Sound, bringing professional lighting and production to countless live performances over the years.

When he’s not behind the lighting console, Joe enjoys photography, another creative passion he’s pursued throughout his life.
