My first ever film is OUT NOW. Getting to record on the sidewalks of Brooklyn will always be special to me.

I used to run home from bartending shifts to edit this footage together at 2am and rearrange the puzzle until it reflected the magic I felt while recording it. As I get ready to move into a new album cycle, I’m so excited to share a deeper look into The Brooklyn Circus.

All of the people you see in this film have devoted their lives to making music out of passionate necessity. There is no plan b for these artists. They create because it’s all they know. Not because they’re paid well to do it or because they see an immediate return, but because it’s innate. That authenticity and ownership of self is exactly what has always made Brooklyn so magnetic to me.

To the weird and whimsical. The Making Of: The Brooklyn Circus is OUT NOW, and I love you.

Yay! I’m done with grad school!! 💜🎓 So grateful for the friends I made here at NYU, as well as the incredible support and feedback I received from professors on my songwriting. Plus, I got to have my own recital and record some things at Dolan Studio :)
