Another day another comp 😎

If you haven’t already you should definitely check this one out. It’s UK based but open to everyone and is very similar to the Pitch It! Comp. So if you’ve already pulled together your entry for that one, this is an easy one to enter as well ✌️

BIG HEADS! Wild Horse Nine blew my socks off this morning. Stacked cast (with incredible chemistry) plus a sharp script plus beautiful cinematography plus leaky eyes = my kind of film 🗿

A big MBC recommends for @wildhorsenine coming to UK cinema on 4 November. Subscribe to Movie Bread Club wherever you get your podcasts to hear our full review 🥖

Them: „How excited are you?“
Me: „Yes!“
😂 It was the perfect deadline to finally stop editing the first chapters for the 1251st time and to just get it out there.

Thank you to my critique partner who definitely also gave me a boost of confidence @g.m.llewellyn 🫶

1. I love deadlines. Without deadlines I would stare at the trees and eat hobnobs indefinitely.
2. Overwriting: when your manuscript needs the same diet you do.
3. Dear neighbour, you have to stop giving me apples.
4. I'm up to my ears in chutney.
4. Seriously.

So, I’ve entered Oliver Webber and the Cave of Skulls into the #searchlightawards. This is a HUGE opportunity for me, and I’m really hoping I make the long list for it at the very least.

This novel means something so close to my heart and I’m really desperate to find someone who believes in it like I do. I’ve felt myself worrying, frustrated, wondering “am I good enough?”

And while I’ve had some very positive feedback, it doesn’t change that little voice that asks if it’s all worth it, because I’ve polished it and rewrote it so many times that realistically, if I was to change every word, I feel like the outcome would be the same.

I’m hoping hard and fingers crossed.

Well this morning I definitely woke up like it’s my last day on earth.
Getting all the jobs done.
I just dumped Bear into another competition. @searchlight_awards Even though his story is nowhere near finished.
I have told my family that -
“Mum will be gone a while.” Very solemnly like I’m off on a round the world adventure.
“Where are you going mummy?” Their sad little faces stared up at me.
“I’m going to a place far beyond where anyone can reach me. Far beyond this realm and all the way to Asgard.”
Silence.
“Not really, I’ll be in my room. But you may want to learn to cook and wash and stuff because I’m not coming out till this is done!”
Anyway.
If anyone needs me I’ll be in my room.
