Rooftop Recap, Pt. 1

In spite of the weather setbacks we experienced during our last Rooftop show of the season, we had an incredible show with @debfotheringham and the @madisonarm All Stars . A huge thanks to all who came and waited so patiently for the lighting and rain to pass. We started out on our outdoor Rooftop stage, but eventually had to move things inside. Many thanks to @velourlive for opening their doors to us.

Enjoy Pt. 1 of these incredible concert photos by @clarkcliffordphoto.

I feel like every time I open this app, I see another artist’s tour post where it seems like all their shows are marked as sold out. It never fails to make me feel just the tiniest bit discouraged. To all the other young and/or not currently blowing-up artists out there, I’d like to let you know that my upcoming shows are definitely not sold out and not even close at the moment 😂. We do this because we love it and we have something to share with the world. Don’t forget that, and don’t let the numbers dictate what you think your art’s value is! I can’t wait to see however many of you in the real world decide to show up! I will love every second of it. ✌🏻

Friday night we pay our respects to the late great George Harrison by playing an entire night of just his songs—from The Beatles to his solo albums to his supergroup The Traveling Wilburys. Come hear songs by the only guy who ever managed to 1) be in bands with and 2) land his songs on albums made by Lennon/McCartney, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison,Tom Petty, and the guy from ELO.

He was nicknamed The Quiet Beatle and often overlooked in the massive shadow of Lennon & McCartney, but George Harrison’s songs speak for themselves (and then some). Here Comes The Sun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, My Sweet Lord, Something, Handle With Care, All Things Must Pass, Taxman, Within You Without You, Isn’t It A Pity…his songbook is insane. Come celebrate Harrison’s iconic Beatles, solo, and Traveling Wilburys songs with an all-star house band comprised of members of Neon Trees, Desert Noises, Fictionist, and The Lower Lights backing up an absurd lineup of singers. Who? Meg & Brady Parks (The National Parks), Mindy Gledhill, Joey St. John (Cardinal Bloom), Nate Pyfer (Pinguin Mofex), Marie Bradshaw (The Hollering Pines), Libbie Linton (Mideau), Ryan Innes, the King will come, Peter Breinholt, Mason Porter (Polytype), Mick Rudolph (Seaslak), Marcus Bently, Debra Fotheringham, Jordan Moyes, Amy Gileadi (Sunfall Festival), Talin Everett, Dominic Moore. It all happens at Velour on February 27, just two days after what would’ve been (should’ve been) Harrison’s 83rd birthday.
