We have earned the SOLE endorsement of the Seattle Education Association @seattleea, the union representing Seattle’s educators! As an educator, I know how important it is for our educators, students, and their families to be fully supported both in & of school. 🍎📚📓 This image uses a purple and burgundy gradient background. A blue banner at the top of the image reads “Seattle Education Association Endorses Nikkita for Nine!” Directly below this and to the left is the Seattle Education Association logo, and below that is the Nikkita4Nine campaign logo. To the right of the logos is a burgundy square with an orange outline with white text inside that reads "Nikkita’s vision for a just and equitable society grounded in their experience as an educator inspires us all to imagine a better world for students, families, members and all our neighbors." On the bottom edge, white text on yellow background reads: “Paid for by Nikkita for the People, www.Nikkita4Nine.com”

TODAY! We will be in person Seattle African American Achievement @seattlepublicschools REVOLUTION REMIX FILM SCHOOL DISTRICT TOUR We will show a virtual screening of our short film Revolution Remix talk with the producers about the making of the film, followed by a film discussion. The Revolution Remix film (and it's accompanying musical EP) was created by Kingmakers of Oakland in response to the uprising and social unrest we experience after the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd during the summer of 2020. This creative work was intended as a means to uplift youth voice, create an outlet for expression, and elevate the conversation towards the liberation and empowerment of Black people. #revolutionremix #seattlepublicschools #seattleaama #kingmakersofoakland

We're proud to be endorsed by the Seattle Education Association! SEA represents over 6000 workers in Seattle Public Schools. Kshama has walked the picket line with educators and fought for full funding for public education, paid for by taxing the rich. Now they're standing with her!

The Amazon Tax is a historic victory for working people! Our movement beat Jeff Bezos (again). MASKS REQUIRED ❤️😷❤️ We went all out, talking to tens of thousands of people over the last few months to build unstoppable momentum for a big business tax. We organized mass democratic Action Conferences, rallies, and marches. We faced many obstacles in this struggle: we were able to defeat the Democrats’ attempts at a statewide ban, we overcame challenges in an unprecedented pandemic, we defeated the lies of the corporate media and political establishment, and we stand here victorious because of the determination of working class people to fight. Join us on Saturday at Volunteer Park for an outdoor, socially distanced Victory Party (masks required). Our thousands of hours of canvassing, phonebanking, organizing and discussing together, which yielded this incredible victory, merit a real celebration! There are many battles ahead, but it is important for us to enjoy this massive victory collectively, as we also draw out the lessons of how we won. Musical Acts: *Guayaba *Rise Up Action Band Speakers: *TBA

Seattle educators have been a key force in removing SPD from our schools and from the labor movement. ⁣ ⁣ They continue this work by embracing the demand to defund SPD by at least 50% and invest in community-based health and safety — like counselors, social workers, and restorative justice programs. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #BlackLivesMatterAtSchools #LaborForBlackLives #TeachersForBlackLives #DefundPolice #DefundSPD

>> Today: SPOG is out of the labor movement. >> Tomorrow: SPD is out of our city. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Deep love for our comrades in the labor movement that worked hard and courageously to make this a reality — building working-class power for racial and economic justice — building beloved community without the racist police state! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣———— ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣WHAT THIS MEANS: ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ >> Another step closer to defunding SPD⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ >> Demonstrates that the police are detrimental to building multiracial working-class power ⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ >> Demonstrates we can successfully undercut SPD’s influence/presence/power⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ >> Labor’s public alignment with Black Liberation⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ >> Big labor money and clout can be used to endorse & support abolitionist candidates⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ >> Precedent setting — inspire other labor councils (from around the nation) as well as other formations to cut ties with the police. ⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ >> Another blow to SPD... they lost their East Precinct, their chemical weapons, their membership in the labor council, and (increasingly) their public image. ⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ #DefundSPD #DefundPolice #LaborForBlackLives #workerPower #Workers #Proletariat #Union #UnionStrong #Solidarity #blacklivesmatter #BelovedCommunity #SolidarityForever
