Drover is a proud papa! 🐢🐢

Today we visited @seaturtleinctx. A nonprofit that protects sea turtles through conservation, medical care, applied research and education. AND it’s dog friendly. 😍

Drover was so moved by the work they do there that he decided to sponsor a nest. The babies should be born in May or June and Drover will be the adopted papa of 100s of babies!

In hopes of giving the babies super powers, we named the nest, 𝗧𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗷𝗮 𝗗𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀. 🦸🐢

If you are ever in South Padre, @seaturtleinctx is a must visit!

Being an AmeriCorps member means strengthening our community through service, so it’s a good thing we’re not scared to get dirty. Our members and supervisors, in conjunction with the TSC Creative Media Club, took to the beaches of South Padre Island to pick up trash this past weekend.

We want to thank our local nonprofit, @seaturtleinctx for helping supply our cleanup efforts and teach us how litter can interfere with sea turtle nesting and harm marine ecosystems.
