I was here for the turtle… but someone else wanted the spotlight. 😂🐢

Just a green sea turtle cruising through the crystal-clear waters of Martinique, with her little entourage underneath. Then the remora decided it was his moment. 💀🌊

Nature spares no one… not even the most innocent.

I met this green sea turtle in the ocean in the Caribbean sea.

One side of her face was severely affected by fibropapilomatosis, a disease that can cause debilitating tumors in sea turtles.
The other side still revealed the beautiful creature she was.

I don't know what happened to her after our encounter. I can only hope she finds peace.

We often see the ocean as a paradise, but beneath its beauty, there is also suffering, fragility, and loss.

Not every encounter leaves us with a smile. Some stay with us because they remind us how precious life is.

Green sea turtles are widely described as natural lawnmowers of the sea: “Green sea turtles act as natural ‘lawnmowers’ within their habitat by grazing on seagrass, which keeps the meadows short, healthy, and capable of growing back stronger.

Heron island resort sunrise during mating season 🥰

Turtles at it, birds at it, bebi shovel nose rays darting around.

Shouldn't be long now before we get our first nesting sea turtle of the 26/27 season 🥰

A true wildlife and nature immersion is always here at Heron Island, hope you will be joining us. Get in for November before we get busy again!

After shooting tiny critters with a macro lens at the first two locations, getting to Siladen is a nice change of pace as I am shooting all wide angle. For the last two days I dove in #bunaken National Marine Park. Here they have gorgeous sheer walls covered in coral, soft corals, and sponges. The reef supports a large variety of fish and other #sealife . This area is particularly known for having a large number of #seaturtles . Diving here didn’t disappoint, as I saw many turtles on every dive. I took this image of a green #seaturtle resting on a coral rubble ledge in the late afternoon. Just another amazing encounter on this trip where #indonesia continues to deliver at every opportunity.
