It’s 8 a.m. and we’re having Champagne

You’ll never see a more authentic video than this.

My friend Sam is a stylist in the fashion and TV commercial industry. I’m the makeup artist. It’s how we met, it’s the world we’ve both worked in for years, and between the two of us, we know good makeup when we see it.

So this is basically us having coffee, talking nonsense, laughing at each other… while I put my face on.

One fitting. One weekend. One very trusting bride. ✨

My Australian bride was referred to me by @veilatelier and generously trusted me to create her custom lace corset from afar.

She sent through her measurements, arrived in Cape Town on Friday, we fitted for the first time on Saturday… and by Monday, she was wearing it.

No alterations. No panic. Just a perfect fit. 🤍

A little behind the scenes with the incredible Minki van der Westhuizen.

There’s something I love about those completely unscripted moments on set…

“Oeh, dit ruik lekker.” 🤍

That was Minki’s first reaction to our Sōji Body Butter as I applied it to her skin. Rich and nourishing, with subtle light-reflecting particles that help soften the appearance of redness and give the skin that beautiful, luminous, more youthful-looking finish.

And her verdict once she saw it?

“Oh wow… amazing.”

For the finishing touch, I used IRO Multi-Stick in Burnt Honey on her lips to create that gorgeous warm, softly defined 90s lip. And honestly, she looks incredible.

A little behind the scenes with the incredible Teresa de Klerk.

From Wonderbra to Sports Illustrated and countless shoots in between, Teresa is one of those women who is every bit as remarkable in person as she is in front of the camera.

For this look, I reached for two Sōji favourites: our Barely There Multi-Stick for that soft, effortless wash of colour, finished with our Setting Spray to bring everything together.

There’s something very special about seeing products I created become part of my own makeup kit, especially on a face as iconic as this one.

Debbie and Ben’s love story spans over 18 years and an ocean of distance, yet their love found a rhythm to bring them together. Their wedding celebrations were all about reflecting on their adventures together and sharing this with their loved ones. As a result “reflections” became the central theme of the design, along with their love for art.

Zeitz MOCAA was the perfect setting with all the reflections across Cape Town. The ceremony structure was inspired by the leaves on a pond, along with the gallery feeling of sculptures and hand embroidered couches.

The pre dinner drinks space had an incredibly low celling, so with clever designs mirroring the space, suddenly the room felt bigger and the guests became part of the composition, along with a timeline of Debbie and Ben’s beautiful love story.

The dinner reception was the masterpiece, with glass bars, a custom table with flowers and lighting becoming the art, unique chairs and a ceiling installation that had the 1990s calling and asking for their windshield sunshades back. A colour block after party and a bride and groom that trusted us, lead to an unforgettable evening.

Thank you to these two dear souls for trusting me and to our incredible team, I am beyond proud!

Two days. One wedding dress. One very special bride. 🤍

I’m so incredibly grateful to have been trusted with something as important as making a bride’s wedding dress just days before her wedding. The goal was simply to make sure she felt beautiful, confident and completely herself when she walked down the aisle.

And honestly, I still can’t believe we made this in two days.
