Kicking off one of my favorite Middleburg, Virginia traditions 🎬

The Middleburg Doc Week cocktail party is where it all begins, bringing the community together to support the festival through sponsorships and ticket sales ahead of the Doc Week Middleburg Film Festival next month, May 12-16.

👉 A full week of incredible documentaries at the Middleburg Community Center is made possible by evenings like this at the beautiful Welbourne Inn.

To a little town called Obvs,

I’m channeling my corniest self when I say: thank you for becoming home for the past two months. Thank you for the most wonderful people. I’ve learned so much from you. From witnessing the wealth disparities that result from decades of oppression, to the organization of a new democracy, to hearing testimonies from the entire SADC region that are facing the consequences of detrimental mining policies, xenophobia, gender-based violence, and child statelessness, you have provided lessons that my privileged experience could never allow me to fully comprehend. I am so blessed to have been trusted by these communities to act as a safe space and vehicle of change. I am also so blessed to have been impacted by the most beautiful souls and stories.

Lower Main, GroundZero Cafe, Spin St, the crypts, dozens of sunset spots, the lofts that I made my own despite not paying rent, and the friends that will last a lifetime have left a handprint on my heart. I would give anything for this little slice of this adventure to last forever. Thank you Morehead-Cain, Masambeni, Africa Unite, and everyone that this trip brought me. I know I’ll see you all again because all roads always lead to Boogie.
