I thought I was walking into a store. I walked into about 47 new house projects. 😂🏠

First visit to Second Chance in Baltimore, and the camera does NOT do this place justice.

Furniture, kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, doors, a giant wine rack… and then somebody told me they had gym equipment. 💪👀

If you knew me before real estate, you know buying and selling gym equipment was my thing. I had to investigate. 😂

I came just to look and get inspiration for my house. Left with a full camera roll and a brain that needed a minute to process everything.

Have you been to Second Chance? What’s your best find? 👇

Designer Takeover: Caleb Speaking! Still feeling incredibly grateful for this one 🥹. Earlier this year, I had the honor of completing the Naomi Camper Memorial Garden at Cylburn Arboretum, alongside Kelley (and @imkenbtww in spirit), our @cylburn_arboretum_friends , the For-Win-Ash Garden Club, and some wonderful local contractors.
One of the most special parts of the process was getting to know the ladies of For-Win-Ash and hearing about the club’s history, their founding president for which the garden is named, their legacy of beautification and community leadership, and what Naomi Camper’s garden means to them. It reminded us that a garden can hold a lot more than plants 💚
.
Our goal was to give this small rowhome-style demonstration garden a makeover by creating distinct garden “rooms,” framed views, and an arbor made from reclaimed porch columns and railings that nod to Baltimore’s historic architecture. Thoughtfully giving some old materials a @secondchanceinc
.
Kennedy put it best:
“This project was such a meaningful experience, and it was incredibly rewarding to see how thoughtful landscape design can bring people together and create a lasting impact. It was an honor to work with the wonderful members of the Garden Club and I’d like to thank them for being so welcoming, passionate, and inspiring through the design process!”
.
We unveiled the garden in May 2026 alongside the other four, and getting to watch visitors interact with the space for the first time after years of work was one of those moments that makes all the meetings, drawings, revisions (and more revisions) worth it.

So grateful to have been part of this little piece of Baltimore history 💚 @clbastn

For those of you who are new here…Meet Sam.

The woman who moved across the country for the man she loved, got dumped a week later, and bought their shared dream for herself.

Now she’s learning how to renovate a 100 year old house from her Dad, who has 40 years of construction experience.

Two months in, they accomplished an impressive amount. And she’s grown an impressive amount emotionally.

Come along for the ride!
