Amsterdam Marathon — 2:36:08: 18th female, top American, and an Olympic Trials qualifier ⭐️ Third time’s a charm!!! ❤️‍🔥🇳🇱

I went through a really dark patch this spring and summer and was at my lowest. But I’ve learned that in this life, you have to be willing to lose in order to win.

I try not to share much about my running. After all, it’s just a hobby. But it wasn’t until I started building towards the fall that I finally began to snap out of the negative cycle I had put myself in. While it wasn’t perfect all the time, running saved me.

I ran while working two jobs. I ran with a broken heart. I ran while pursuing an MBA. I ran sleep-deprived, on tired legs, and emotional burnout. But I ran because I loved it. With each passing year, my love for running and the people in this community grows stronger.

Running a 2:36 and hitting the OTQ was more than I could have ever dreamed of, but the version of myself who ran this race is what I’m most proud of.

Somewhere in your 20s, you’ll get the opportunity to rebuild your life after a negative cycle, heal from what broke you, live in your own space, reconnect with your discipline, and learn to love yourself again.

It’s very important that you see that journey through.

That scream at the finish line was years of hard work finally coming to fruition.

❌❌❌ AMSTERDAM - SUB 3 BABY!!! (2:58:22)

A goal I’ve been thinking about for such a long time finally came to fruition Sunday. I’m so grateful to have been a part of @secondcitytc @mizunorunningusa to get here, so stoked for teammates @heyysab @_paolo.t for qualifying for the OLYMPIC TRIALS(!!!!) and so happy to have the opportunity to chase goals that fulfill me in this way! The sport of running continues to show me the best people, new places, and teach me more about myself in ways I never imagined. Cheers‼️🥂🥳

Yesterday in Amsterdam, Athletes showed up ready to test their limits, chase big goals, and leave everything on the course.

For two, that pursuit led to something even bigger: qualifying to the Olympic Trials.

William and his @secondcitytc teammates have just over 3 weeks to the Amsterdam Marathon where they’ll be chasing an Olympic Trials qualifying time. Along with high mileage, intensity is increasing in these final weeks with some race-pace work rounding out their fall training block.
