💚 THANK YOU, BLACK WELLNESS FAMILY! THANK YOU TO @cw_heather.hutt @blackwellnessprojectla @makeen_yasar @makkmurr @heatherhuttca 💚

I’m truly overwhelmed with joy, gratitude, and love after being able to take part in such an AMAZING — and I mean BEYOND AMAZING — Back-to-School Bash! 🙌🏾🎒✨

From start to finish, you could feel the love, intention, and attention to detail that went into creating an experience that truly poured back into our community. Kids received fully equipped backpacks filled with school supplies, families were blessed with groceries, and there were electric scooter bikes raffled off — all while incredible health and wellness vendors showed up to educate, connect, support, and pour their love into our community. ❤️‍🩹🫶🏾

A HUGE thank you to @_mr.brandnew New for keeping the kids going, dancing, laughing, and LIT all day! 🔥🎤 And thank you to @heymarleyrae for helping us start the day off right with yoga and positive energy! 🧘🏾‍♀️☀️

This is what community looks like. This is what pouring back into our youth and families looks like. And this is exactly why I love what we do. 🙏🏾

S.O.L.O. (Seeing Over Large Obstacles) is beyond grateful to have played a part in something so powerful. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to the entire Black Wellness family for allowing us to be part of your vision and your amazing event!

The love was REAL. The energy was REAL. The impact was REAL. 💚

Until next time — keep pouring into the community, keep loving on our youth, and keep showing them what’s possible! ✨

BWPLA Summer Bash & Community Health Fair 2026 🎉🩺

Recap on our 8/15/26 health fair: 300+ attendees, 280 backpacks given away, 200 bags of groceries distributed to families, and over 100 people screened and/or connected to health access and social needs resources throughout the day.

A day of celebration and wellness across the board. From music and movement to reiki and raffles, dance and yoga across generations to hoops and archery in the back field for the youth. But what truly stood out was the care— the healing hands, the listening ears receiving the concerns of the people.

Times as we know are hard for many, and we’re thankful to have helped hold space for folks to lay down their burdens, to take care of their families, and nurture their minds, bodies and spirits.

Black Wellness Project LA is committed to a vision of wellness created by our community to transform Black health outcomes and achieve health equity for all. We look forward to continuing to build networks of care for our community in pursuit of those goals, because now more than ever we are the ones to take care of each other.

Huge thanks again to our volunteers, our vendors, and our partners and sponsors @cw_heather.hutt @lacityparks @cedarssinai @bw4wla @snma_region1 @scope_la @seeingoverlargeobstacles @_mr.brandnew

See y’all at the next event!
