And it continues! With the crowd swelling, and my langos intake heading to my second, the weather was pretty good. @gracegemmellnz played a couple of times to fill the gap between acts and delivered a few tunes of lovely upbeat acoustic folky pop. Thanks Grace! @talkingfurnitureband cruised in next and blasted out a cool set of sonic guitar based indie noise pop. Another great band showing just why they made the finals of the Rockquest. Bouncing performance with extra keyboards, and ripping vocals. And a bouncy ball interaction. 🤘Taking the event to its next stage were young riot grrls @seekhelp.band . Holy shit they rock. Everyone kept telling me they’re gonna be supporting the Foo Fighters. Which is a massive opportunity for such a cool band. They’re one of the bands I knew better than others, but had never seen, and they totally let rip. Completely bossing it. And changing out duties on bass and vocals took me by surprise when I saw possibly that my favourite song of the year, boygirl was the only song sung by that member. They’re a cool band. And then to @soggnz . I knew their music pretty well from the 4eps. But what. On. Earth.?? Those 3 humans are something more than could have imagined live. The confidence. The instrument tones. The songs. The vocals. The drumming. The on (and off) stage theatrics. Absolutely outrageous. So good…😳. And that’s it for part 2. I’m just gonna stay leaning against the barrier and wait for the next act…. Gig#104 for 2026 (part 2)

Urgent action required ! TODAY! In true dumb decisions made without consultation - this time it’s about buses. And it affects our PIONEER ALL AGES SHOWS ORC have decided to cancel the last bus of each night, from Port to Town/Town to Port Just like that. Our community has to act fast, today! They are deciding this now and it will be final by the end of this week (as in tomorrow) . What to do: Share far and wide Send kind emails to these two people, about Pioneer Hall Shows and what they mean to you. The Buses are about safety, community, getting to do things that are good, in a city that does not offer much else for the age group that relies on the buses anita.dawe@orc.govt.nz matt.hollyer@orc.govt.nz Don’t let another lot take away something that you love And show them what excellent manners our community has too 💜
