Some of the young people who walk through the doors of Lookout07 are carrying things that are incredibly hard to comprehend.

What worries us most isn’t just the behaviour we see, it’s the mindset behind it. Some young people genuinely struggle to see their own worth, their own future, or the importance of their own lives.

And that’s why what we do matters.

At Lookout07, we create a safe place where young people can belong, be heard, build trust and discover that their life has value. Through connection, mentoring, counselling and simply being there consistently, we have the opportunity to change the direction of a young person’s life.

We don’t take that responsibility lightly.

We can change lives. We can prevent tragedy. We can save lives. And we are doing it.

This is why Lookout07 exists.🫶🙏🙌

$68,080. 💛🖐🏼

What an incredible day. What an incredible community.

Today, the Sunshine Coast came together and raised an astonishing $68,080 through our Sky High Cash Cleanup for Give Me 5 and Wishlist.

To every business that donated, every family who stopped by the Ferris Wheel, every individual who dug deep, and every child who proudly handed over their pocket money to help another child in need — thank you. You are the reason this community is so special.

A huge thank you to the Sunshine Coast Show for welcoming us, supporting us and allowing us to bring this event to life. We are so grateful for your partnership and generousity.

To our Girls Team, our Boys Team, the incredible tech crew who kept us connected in the sky, the team from Seen Agency, the amazing Wishlist team and volunteers, our hardworking promotions crew on the ground, the team back at the station keeping everything moving, and everyone who played a part behind the scenes — thank you.

Days like today remind us that Give Me 5 has never been about a Ferris wheel, a radio station or a fundraising target. It’s about a community that shows up for local sick kids and their families when they need it most.

Sunshine Coast, we’re so proud of you.

Together, we’re changing local lives. 💛

In Queensland, more than 250 young people are detained every day at a cost of approximately $1,000 per person, per day. Even more concerning, around 80% of those released will reoffend.

The reality is that detention alone is not solving the problem.

Prevention is key.

At Lookout07, we focus on reconnecting the disconnected. Through mentoring, counselling, positive relationships, and a safe, fun environment, we help young people build resilience, find belonging, and create a better future.

When we invest in prevention, we invest in safer communities, stronger families, and brighter futures for our young people.

Every young person deserves someone who believes in them before they become another statistic. Thanks to everyone that supported us, we truly appreciate it and are blessed to have such great supporters! #youthempowerment #youth #lookout07 #youthjustice #awareness
