You come for the open mic, but somehow you leave with much more!!

Music, poetry, art, laughter, new connections, and so many different voices sharing the same space. Thank you to everyone who came, shared, listened, and made this night so special.

What was your favorite moment of the night? 🫰🏼🫰🏼

See you at the next one

We almost didn’t go.

The forecast called for thunderstorms. The air was hazy from wildfire smoke. Weeks of planning suddenly felt uncertain, and our group spent hours deciding whether this trip should even happen.

Instead of pretending there wasn’t risk, our @provwcya team simply said, “We’re still going. You have the freedom to decide what’s best for you.”

So we prayed… and we went.

What we expected to be the “perfect beach day” never happened.

Instead, we got something better.

Cloud-covered skies that kept us cool.
Wild waves that challenged us.
Friends cheering each other on as they tried surfing for the first time.
People who had never ventured past their ankles diving into the waves of ocean with huge smiles on their faces.
Conversations, naps in the sand, bike rides, laughter… and yes, MANY seagulls determined to steal our snacks.

Everyone experienced the day differently, yet somehow no one experienced it alone.

As I watched the waves roll in, I couldn’t help but think about how each one was different. Some crashed with incredible force. Others gently carried us as we floated.

Both were beautiful.
Both were necessary.
Both were part of God’s design.

The same is true in life.

Was the unknown a little scary? Absolutely.

But do you know what would’ve been even sadder?

Missing the memories God already had waiting for us because we were too afraid of what might happen.

If we had stayed home waiting for perfect weather, I would’ve missed one of my favorite beach days.

We can’t always see what’s waiting on the other side of uncertainty.

Sometimes all we can do is trust the One who can.

We ended the evening gathered under a pavilion, singing praises to the God who reminded us that joy isn’t found in perfect circumstances. It’s found in His presence.

Sometimes faith isn’t believing there won’t be storms.

Sometimes it’s trusting that God already knows what’s waiting on the other side.

And this time… it was better than anything I could’ve planned. 🤍

Highlight of the week! 💥

The Art Gallery + Culture Night was an unforgettable evening! There is no denying the Holy Spirit was so present. It was a beautiful tapestry of color, texture, food and fine art, music and dance inspired by cultures from around the world.

Thank you to all the artists who were vulnerable in entering artwork or performing. And thank you all who helped and served in some way! This evening could not have happened without all of you.
