I was asked “why Antartica?” so many times before I left and my response was always “why not???”

I have to admit, that a large part of my motivation was to have the hardest continent to get to under my belt. But as the trip went on, my perspective shifted. I have always liked conservation, history, and nature but being immersed into that in the South Pole, made me fall in love. I admire the people who use their time to educate people on the wildlife and environment. As well as the people/institutions who continue to fund/conduct research to protect this perfect part of the earth. There is an undeniable beauty and tranquillity I’ll never forget, Antartica belongs to all of us 🩵

@lexicowan thank you for inviting me

Be sure to remember how fast you ran it this year, I'm sure you'll want be faster in 2025. 😉

For those of you who made this your FIRST 5K, we appreciate you! Signing up for your first race can be intimidating, but you did it and were super proud of you. 🦃
