As many of you know, I have the priveledge of working as an A&R for @sekoramusic. Thought I'd put together a little list of the things I find myself giving feedback on most often after listening to so many of your demos!

1. Contrast & progression
Probably the one I mention the most! Is the track taking you on a journey or is it pretty much the same loop throughout? Building energy, taking it away and introducing new elements can make a huge difference

2. A memorable hook
What's the one thing people will remember after hearing your track? A vocal phrase, a catchy melody or even a bassline? It can really be anything, but having something recognizable that gives the track its identity is to me the MOST important thing

3. Depth & atmosphere
Subtle background sounds like atmospheric textures, nature recordings and little bits of ear candy can add so much character and depth

4. Creating space
Not everything needs to be in the spotlight at once. Sometimes too many sounds are competing for attention. Deciding what should stand out and what should sit in the background can make a big difference. Sometimes less really is more tbh

5. Transitions
Sometimes two sections sound great on their own but don't quite flow together. Small details like reverb automation, reverse effects or changes in the arrangement can help connect them without relying on the same generic effects every time (white noise sweeps, crashes etc)

Hope these pointers are helpful when working on your next tune!
