Can we talk about how perfectly beautiful today was ✨🖤 So blessed to be in community. Healing and sharing together. Excited for what’s your come next ✨🖤 What is Juneteenth: 19 June to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, slaves were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation. #juneteenth #blacklivesmatter #blm #blackhistory #juneteenthcelebration #blackgirlmagic #blackownedbusiness #freedom #love #blackexcellence #explorepage #black #melanin #blackowned #blacklove #june #blackpower #atlanta #happyjuneteenth #georgefloyd #blackbusiness #explore #blackisbeautiful #music #repost #toronto #downtowntoronto @lululemon #ambassador #thesweatlife #lululemonambassador

Hey everyone! 👋 Join us next Thursday, June 23rd from 12-1pm in PAC Studio 1 for an energizing and nourishing yoga and meditation session facilitated by @selamdebs! This event in partnership with UW Athletics and Recreation and its Move Your Mind Program @wloorec is a gentle movement session designed for BIack, Indigenous and racialized bodies for the purpose of grounding, centering and reclaiming our wellness. Selam will guide you through how to move out of the unconscious fight, flight and freeze state that we often unconsciously spend the day in. This trauma-informed decolonized holistic practice will help you centre, de-stress, ground and activate your parasympathetic nervous system- responsible for our ability to access creativity, restoration, renewal and peace. We will close our practice with a discussion around the impacts of white supremacy and how we can reclaim our wellness through culturally aware, mindful and life-affirming practices that before being colonized by white culture, were ancient practices within Black, Brown and racialized communities across the globe. These wellness practices are your birthright. Ticketfi link in bio.

People (I especially) often talk about the power and impact of sharing your story but a common question is how can you make your story into something empowering when there are chapters of hardship?  Join Mother, Anti-Racism Educator, and Yoga Studio Owner @selamdebs and I while we discuss honouring your worth, the impact of sharing stories, raising children of colour, code switching and so much more.  To tune in, click the link in bio or search "Two Feet Apart" wherever you listen to your podcasts. Mid-way on the right side is a bold white font that reads "S2E25". Below is an audio wave that goes across the photo to highlight the volumes of the audio. Repost by @byblacks When police were called on a four-year-old Black child in Waterloo, Black parents banded together to unify their voice and call out the blatant racism they were seeing. Now the @blackparentcouncil_kw is holding the @wr_dsb and WCDSB accountable for anti-Black racism within schools. Click the link in bio to read more. #kitchenerontario #waterlooontario
