Ahhh fall. Here in upstate NY for a quick trip. Got to ride Amtrak along the Hudson and see the colors. Where I am in Spain is really great but palm trees din't do this. #pineplainsny #fallcolors🍁🍂 @symphonyspace @selected_shorts

I’m loving working on this solo piece with National Book Award-winning author #CharlesYu from some of his super relatable, very human, short stories. This grew from a simple reading at @symphonyspace’s one-of-a-kind @selected_shorts program, which will always be one of my ride-or-dies. @actsanfrancisco has picked up the ball and our next iteration is with my hometown theater company in a kind of hybrid limited engagement at the historic and sexy Strand Theater in downtown #SanFrancisco. I’m really into this author and his spectacular writing and themes, this city, and this theater.

The stories are written by Ben Loory and Haruki Murakami. Take a listen wherever you get your podcasts.

What a joy it was to celebrate my friend, Elissa Nelson, with a reading of her story “The Holy Virgin in Queens” by @cynthiaenixon for @selected_shorts. Elissa’s presence was felt everywhere, most of all in being together with her beloved friends and family, most of whom I haven’t seen in over a decade. It was so wonderful to reunite with her sister @emilynopolis, Laurice, @keightb, @laurenjaded, Brendan, and E’s mom. And to bring fellow McKinley-Brighton Elementary School alum, @whichsideisme, as my date.
