Life has been life-ing the fuck out of me lately.

I just survived the holy trinity of dreaded appointments: a mammogram, a Pap smear, and a colonoscopy.

0/10. Do not recommend. Being a woman is fucking hard.

So instead of spiraling, I rewarded myself the only way I know how… with 📚 books 📚

Because if I’m going to spend days recovering from adulting, I might as well do it with fictional trauma, morally gray characters, and a rapidly growing TBR.

Here’s to taking care of ourselves…even when it’s uncomfortable, awkward, and downright exhausting. And here’s to celebrating the little wins afterward.

I haven’t actually read a book in about 15 years. Since Seley can read around 60 books a year, I set a goal for myself to read at least 3 this year. I started with The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating at the beginning of the year. It took me quite a while to make myself read. I finally finished it at the end of May. Then Marley had me start listening to Fourth Wing. I was instantly hooked. It took me about a month to finish the series, listening to and from work. Also starting in June, I began my journey into Dungeon Crawler Carl. I finished the first one in about 16 days and am currently half way through the second just 3 days in.

Despite the mouthful of a title, Echoes of the Mountain: Incident 2017-10 will be a quick read for most of you at just under 200 pages, but I think you're gonna like it... especially if you've already read The Weight of Shadows.

Echoes was written to be a stand alone companion to the Juniper Hollow series that TWOS begins, so if you haven't read TWOS don't fret. You can still sign up and read Echoes.

I'm excited to get this story out and for anyone not up for ARC reading, the novel will be available for sale and kindle unlimited on FEBRUARY 6, 2026 - so mark those calendars!
