What are your thoughts on this piece? “I feel that the way the foreground figure is depicted is how we were, and sometimes still are, represented. The work is a little shocking but it is good for educating. America has a habit of taking black history and putting it under the rug. By learning more about this work, it shows me that I’m not alone.” - Lexi, Rollins ’22 – pictured next to Kara Walker’s “Crest of Pine Mountain, where General Polk Fell, from the portfolio Harper's Pictorial History of the Civil War (Annotated).” #rollinsmuse #karawalker
