Costuming for the film The Book Of The Witch...

When I was approached with this project by @selfesteemproductions I was asked to play the Witch as well as design and make her costume, plus do the hair and makeup.

As an actress who throughly enjoys deep diving on my character's back story, this delighted me. I was full in

I used the costume and makeup process as a way to learn more about my character and showcase it on film. The buttons down the spine are collected from her victims over the years. The weathered hem from years of walking on foot. The dirt piled on after ages of negle ct. Cataract eyes aging faster than spells can undo...

It all added to the character.

I was very lucky to be sent a screener of a low budget horror movie that stays with you after you have watched it. Big thank you to @selfesteemproductions who asked me to check out The Book Of The Witch!!

I enjoyed the movie, it was so well put together and I loved the classic look for the witch. The use of sound was done with a lot of care and added an unnerving and uncomfortable feeling during the movie!! The tones and lighting reminded me of Wolf Creek at times.

I enjoyed this movie more than I expected and the main characters in the movie were hugely likeable and you wanted no harm to come to them. The friendship between Victoria and August felt natural and both gave strong performances.

Overall this movie was great, atmospheric and left you feeling the right amount uncomfortable. Check it out if you get the chance!!!
