A SEAT AT THE TABLE
Earlier this week over at Olympia……@decorex_international opened with a brilliant central feature, the brainchild of @alexandriadauley and @grantpierrus.

I have a lot of time for these two. They are full of positivity, and passion for what they do, open and inclusive.

Promoting their new initiative @aevencollective, Alex and Grant brought together 70 beautiful different, handcrafted chairs from across the UK to represent us as individuals within the design industry and how we all have a seat at the table.
Such beautiful pieces from talented makers that inspired conversations and connections throughout the week.

Really worth looking through the full catalogue on their website.

A Seat at the Table has come to life, bringing together an extraordinary community of makers, designers and collaborators through a shared celebration of craftsmanship, creativity and connection.

On Monday morning, we had the pleasure of hosting the AEVEN Makers' Breakfast, bringing together the people behind the pieces for a morning of conversations, introductions and new connections.

After months of planning and collaboration, there was something particularly special about hearing the stories behind the work and seeing relationships form around the very pieces that brought us together.

At its heart, A Seat at the Table is about creating space for these exchanges. A place where independent makers can share their stories, have their voices heard and take their rightful seat within the wider design community.

The chairs and pieces brought us together. The conversations are what will carry us forward.

If you’ve been to the shop you will’ve notice there’s a few pairs of heels on the shelves, which isn’t our usual thing. Except it is.

They’re not strictly Chapter 2 but they are made by us. Shoe samples and a few pairs from a collection bearing Toms name that we made before Chapter 2 was a thing. We showed them at London Fashion Week and in showrooms in Paris & Milan so they’re proper fashion darling!

Some are pairs so you might get lucky, and others are samples to show some of the exciting possibilities we can make bespoke.

Each one is hand crafted by Tom who is without a doubt the best bespoke shoemaker of women’s heels in the country. In the world of shoemaking heels are actually his specialty.

And then there’s the incredible Owlet table by @selfish_customs that these copper heel snake shoes are sitting on. Hand cast with micro cement these guys make THE most exciting tables ever. And the best part is that you can customise them to colours of your choice. They need a post all of their own so more to follow…

Our most recent show, Silver Screen took place at @garage_gallery_e17 in Walthamstow Village.

Thinking about reflections, screens, mirroring, light, and shadow casting. The petit but perfectly formed space saw the group install a reflective flooring, pushing light and forms around the space making the most perfect space for this show.

DESIGN SHOW KIDS EDIT ✨

We love soaking up the creative energy at the design shows. This is our Brights Edit — joyful finds for kids’ rooms, perfect for lifting those winter blues 🌈

While we’re always inspired by the latest collections and trends, our ethos remains the same: timeless design that works beautifully with both the space and the client.

Kids’ rooms are no exception. There’s nothing better than seeing the excitement on a child’s face at the big reveal — they notice everything. That’s why we love discovering playful ideas at the design shows that can be thoughtfully woven into our schemes 💫
