As part of @selkiesongspublishing Selkie Songs Publishing's commitment to supporting authors of all economic backgrounds, we are offering five FREE tickets to our upcoming workshop series.

To apply, simply get in touch telling us a bit about yourself and what you write, maybe any ideas you're interested in exploring in your writing.

These places are offered on trust, and we hope they'll find their way to people who would really enjoy and benefit from them.

And if you're in a position to buy a ticket, paid places are available too. Every booking helps me continue running these workshops and offering accessible places to other writers.

Workshop details:
31st October - How to Make A House Haunted - adding meaningful Gothic atmosphere to your writing

14th November - Follow the Breadcrumbs your Spirit is Leaving You - helping you clear the noise of possibilities and tap in to the most important ideas

28th November - Stealing Fire from the Powerful - using myth and metaphor in protest writing

🧺 **THE STORY BEHIND THE ART: Washing Day** 🧺

There's a little bit of magic hiding in the everyday, even in the middle of a big, grubby city. ✨

I'm so excited to share a sneak peek at 'Washing Day', one of the illustrations I've created for 'Little London Gothic', a poetry book for dreamers written by my very dear friend Ezra Harker Shaw and soon to be published by Selkie Songs Publishing. 🖤

This collection explores modern life in the big city, finding whimsy amongst the grime and celebrating the inclusivity, diversity and wonderfully unexpected moments that make urban life what it is.

For me, illustrating this book has been about finding those little pockets of wonder hiding in ordinary places — and bringing a touch of magic to the everyday alongside Ezra's wonderful writing.

Swipe through to see some of the inspiration behind *Washing Day*, along with a little glimpse of the finished illustration. 👀🎨

I can't wait for you to see the whole book!
