Core memories unlocked. 🇵🇷❤️ A quick trip to PR, precious family time, endless beach views, and the flavors only Puerto Rico can deliver. Some places don’t just hold memories ~ they feel like home. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Condado and it was the perfect home base for our trip. Until next time, mi isla. 🤍🇵🇷

Hello, friends. Please pray for my dad. My parents were on vacation in Puerto Rico this week when my dad suffered a stroke on Tuesday morning, and was rushed to the hospital. For the first 24-hours, Papi was treated in the ER with my mom by his side. The next day, (Wednesday) he was transferred to another hospital with a stroke ward and specialists on-site that can give him better care. Papi’s stroke (ischemic stroke) initially caused him to lose mobility in his right arm, and affected his speech. We were not sure if he could swallow and were very concerned. By Wednesday night, Papi began speaking some basic words, and eating soft foods. Thursday there were marked improvements but many unanswered questions and concerns. The type of stroke was still unclear as was the cause. I landed on the island at 3am Friday, and was due to see Papi at 12:30pm. I was nervous. To my shock, Papi recognized me, had already showered on his own, and finishing up his meal when I walked in. What the…Amazing. I proceeded to have a normal conversation with papi where he recalled all the events of the day and the amount of days he’s been in the hospital. I called Kathy, my older boys, my sister, and my aunt by FaceTime and he spoke to each of them. Simple conversations but all made sense. Papi is recovering like a champ! I snapped this photo during this visit. Saturday, more marked improvements in speech, awareness, mental capacity and recollection. (Continued in comments)
