You know that dance where your partner catches your little musical idea… and sends one right back? 👀

That’s the kind of conversation our next teacher couple loves.

Add a little humour, plenty of curiosity and years of exploring together — any guesses? ✨

Watch the reveal, then tell us: have you shared a class or a dance with them?

Happy birthday, Ludo! 🥳❤️

I’ve had this beautiful dance with Maria sitting on my hard drive, never shared before… and honestly, what better day to finally bring it online than his birthday? 🥰

Ludo is one of those people who brings so much warmth and good energy wherever he goes. An incredible dancer, a genuinely lovely person, and someone the WCS community is very lucky to have. ❤️

So today, this one is for you! Happy birthday, Ludo! 🥳🎂

While browsing some of my videos I came across one of my private sessions with @semionmaria.

I remember coming to the session basically saying "Semion, I want to dance like you" 😂. And as experienced teachers and mentors, they instead help me work on organic movement, on trying to free my mind of preconceived notions of how I should look and having patience on my perceived mistakes: so I can look... Well, so I can look like me, in my own body and possibilities and expression.

While there are many ways to improve (like - extending those freaking legs ... Or dancing to fast music, just to name a few in that ever growing list 🤣🥲) -that I will continue to explore in this dance, they planted a seed that hopefully will continue grow.

So this one is for them, and all the other teachers (so many I can't name you all) that inspire me and many others. Miss you guys !

And to my fellow modern swingers struggling out there: get to class 🤙🏼

Semion and Maria use concepts to convey an idea, but don't want you to get stuck on the concepts.
Instead, treat them as a temporary tool to try and then experience the feeling it can make in that moment.

Once you experience a concept, discard it - it's not a rule. Don't get tied to it. Instead, practise with it, feel the change it made in your body, review what it looks like (watching a video for example) and use what works.

Partner feedback is also really useful, to help you refine and adjust as you develop your skills.

Once you have that concept, let it go. (Trash it). Let your dance evolve and don't get stuck with only one option.
