Danj Day this year was Danj Week. From Souk in the City with my Pop Out Crew to The Waka Waka Afters with DJ Obi, from Unstoppable Africa and Goalkeepers, to One Night in Lagos with Eudoxie and the Gang! This was a September to remember!

The Cover

The photo of @huguitoni was shot on the iPhone 8 Plus, atop @ekohotels Lagos, Nigeria. October 2017. It’s always been one of my favorite photos, because first of all - Huguette! An absolute star and one of my favorite people to capture on camera. But at the time, she was very hesitant to be on camera and own her shine. Then I shot this photo and the rest is history. But the thing I remember most about this photo was that @remiadetiba who if you know him, you know is the most peculiar, meticulous and critical person on the planet. But also one of the photographers I respect most. He saw it and said - This Shot is Fire! I could sit here and tell you I didn’t need that to know I have a great eye, but compliments and criticism, especially free ones are easy to give. But I respect those of people I know, put a lot into their thoughts and opinions.

The photo and the subject are amazing, but it took a lot to get to this cover which I’m immensely proud of. Semira who was like ehhh the background feels too busy and helped me pick between this and the other cover option I was considering. Ida who decided the font needed to be bolder and stacked, and validated the design and color scheme. Kojo who said, Bro!! I know you wanna be humble but your name needs to be bolder and more prominent. Own ur shit! Then Seema who made final changes to the subtitle. And Demola who made the final edits to the photo and cover.

Thank you for this cover.
