Got injured climbing, got bored, got to work. It sucked being down for the count but I’m glad to be back climbing. Summer was full of fun training and beach days and how it’s time to hunker down and train even harder and chase bigger waves. Thank you MadRock for the continuous support🙏

it's august ?

Sometimes when I satisfy a big goal I feel an urge to immediately move the goalposts and set higher expectations. After my round I was so frustrated that I underperformed after building my fitness higher than it had ever been. Luckily it was pretty hard to stay mad 🙂 knowing that I have left a piece of my heart on the SLC world cup wall,,,that I have joined the psych of those who stood there before me. The feeling that now lingers from nationals is all gratitude

To Mr thesketchybeta, my dad, whose dedication to what made me happy led to millions of priceless moments captured (go buy him a coffee at the link in bio) - Thank you for the daily effort you have put into supporting my youth career. It has compounded into an impact I will spend a lifetime trying to pay back

Finally merci l'equipe 💙🤍 there's too much to say. I'm glad I'll always have a home at Sender.

For a comp I was reluctant to sign up for and wasn’t sure i would show up to, I ended up having a really meaningful experience. Despite the heat on day one, feeling vaguely held together by pink tape, and the pain in my arm, I’m happy to say I had a good time

It’s become clear to me this year that I can’t separate my climbing from the rest of my life and therefore I can’t disregard my mental well being in my training. To make a long and complicated story short, the last few months and especially the couple of weeks leading up to this event have been difficult, and that’s been reflected in my training and comp performances.

Despite all that I can say that I’m proud of the way I climbed. I have a habit of nitpicking and never letting myself by happy with my climbing, but even though my qualis times were far below what I was capable of and my finals round wasn’t ideal, I can sincerely say that I’m proud of the times I put up. My mindset heading into finals was the best it had ever been and for the first time in a while, I’m excited to keep training and getting faster.

Nothing about this would be as meaningful without the amazing people I have by my side. Thank you to everyone who reminded me that the world exists outside of my head, it truly makes a difference

I just hope both teams had fun?

I felt incredibly eager to test myself during my lead round. In the past it’s been easy for me to get bogged down by nerves but I felt completely in control on the wall. Everything connected and the flow was there. I’ve taken a huge step forward in my lead climbing career and I’m incredibly proud of how I showed up to this competition.

On the flip, I’m still pretty poopy pantsed from this half of the comp. This was definitely the hardest boulder round I’ve ever had mentally. I’ve tried so hard to move past this performance but I can’t seem to shake it; just didn’t feel like myself. It’s hard to think about my performance, it’s hard to think about how it will find me down the road, when I’m most unready- knowing I don’t yet have an answer. At the same time it’s soothing to look around and take notice of the people that make this pill a little easier to swallow. I’m unsure of what to say, I’ve never been brought to tears from a round, never felt so defeated- or conflicted. I so desperately want an answer, yet I know I have to embrace whatever it is I’m feeling now.

The good seemed to come with the bad during nationals, and despite results, I’m happy to be taking steps towards my goal as a climber. I had a good performance and learned a lot about myself.

youth nationals🥇🥳

this has genuinely been one of the most unreal experiences of my life. i've been working so hard towards these goals for years and have had so many bad comps that I just can't believe I finally did it. i've dreamed of standing on the podium, of owning of a team jacket, and most importantly of going to youth worlds. so to not just podium but to get first and to qualify for worlds in my last year is so insanely special. anyone there can tell you that I was beyond stressed and so scared I wouldn't perform so to actually perform and be consistent is such an insane breakthrough for me. especially considering my more than rocky history with knockouts, as this was my first time not just winning a knockout race at youth nationals, but winning four! that being said, I felt honored to stand on the podium next to @claire.peee and bella, I'm so excited to go to italy with you guys!! 🇮🇹🫶

also huge congrats to @senderoneclimbingteam for third place in speed!!🥉and 5th place OVERALL! this team is so special to me i'm so beyond thankful for all my coaches and teammates I genuinely could not imagine a better team and im so so proud of everyone. also special shoutout to @laurelclimbs you have poured so much into the team and I'm so honored to call you my coach 💗

also huge thank you to my family to for being so incredibly supportive and making these kind of trips even possible!!
