Collecting big and small animal encounters to remind myself, and maybe you watching too, that these beings have a life that matters to them just as much as yours matters to you.

They want to live free and feel safe. They want to eat, play, sleep, make friends, love, and simply exist for reasons of their own.

Just like us.

Crazy concept, I know. But it’s something we’ve been taught to forget, and something we desperately need to reconnect with.

Take the time to observe them not as underlings, not as objects, not as less valuable beings, but simply as individuals born into different nations, with their own languages, instincts, fears, friendships, and desires we mostly cannot understand.

It grows your compassion. And your humility.

Because one of humanity’s most arrogant habits is seeing ourselves as above others. More important. More intelligent. More deserving. Superior.

And that belief has justified some of the darkest things we have ever done to other beings, human and non-human alike.

What if we weren’t here to dominate the Earth and annihilate other beings through animal agriculture on an industrial scale, causing an unfathomable amount of suffering and pain?

What if we were here to protect this scared planet instead?

To be shepherds of its inhabitants, the animals, the plants, and ourselves, serving a higher purpose of maintaining harmony between all Earthlings 🌏

What if?

Some of my fave Season 88 moments with the fam 💚

Grew up watching games together, and now we get to bring our kids (and husbands — even if mine used to play for our school before 😂) with us to games 🥹
