Ed: Because most of the time he’s lying. He lies about the fact that he couldn’t bring back Garcia when he could bring him back. There’s just one lie. He lies about he wasn’t going to attack Medicaid, Medicare, and by golly, what’s in the bill that he’s pushing? Cutting funds for that.

SOTT: Is that an important issue for you, Medicare?

Ed: No, it’s not for me personally. I’m worried about other citizens that aren’t as lucky as I am and I’m not worried about myself. I’m not even worried about my children. I’m worried about my grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

SOTT: So you are here today in support of your children and grandchildren, but also anybody who needs help.

Ed: Exactly, exactly!

SOTT: What’s it like when you know people that just ignore his lies?

Ed: It’s upsetting that they don’t check out facts at all. No matter what the Don says, people want to believe it. He said it, it must be true. If I told you that the sun comes up in the west, are you going to believe it? No. But I think if he said it, they would. That’s beyond my comprehension.

SOTT: And how does that make you feel?

Ed: Terrible. And depressed.

From the suffragists of Seneca Falls to Gloria’s generation to ours, the fight continues.
