From the hills of Shillong to the heart of the nation.

Celebrating Independence Day with Rotary Club of Shillong Highlands at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School reminded us that freedom is a responsibility.

When students pledge to lead with courage and serve with compassion, a nation truly becomes free.

Here’s to the dreams that will shape India. 🇮🇳

Every great movement begins around a table—where a shared conviction turns simple ideas into lasting change.

Before the community projects and the lives touched across our hills, there were late-night strategy sessions and a collective vision. This frame holds the architects of our journey: the **Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Shillong Highlands**.

From guiding our first steps to steering complex projects, this leadership team brings distinct strengths bound by a single purpose—*Service Above Self*. They don’t just manage initiatives; they nurture them, acting as the anchor and the spark that keeps our young club moving forward with heart and relentless energy.

Here’s to the visionaries leading the way as we build a legacy of service, one story at a time. 💡🌍

What started as just another event slowly became something much more meaningful 🤎

From quiet conversations to shared laughter, creative activities, new connections, and moments that felt unexpectedly comforting — this is what Shehub has always been about.

A space where women can simply show up, create, connect, and feel welcomed without pressure ✨

Every event reminds us that community is built in the smallest moments:
the random conversations,
the people you unexpectedly click with,
the courage to come alone,
and the feeling of leaving a little lighter than before.

To everyone who has attended, supported, collaborated, or shared their experience with us — thank you for helping shape Shehub into what it is today 🌷

This is more than just an event.
It’s a growing community, and we’re so grateful you’re part of it 🤎

The Rotary Club of Shillong Highlands was chartered on 25 November 2025 and proudly received our charter on 6 January 2026, marking the beginning of a journey we’ve all dreamed about.

Our official installation took place on the 6th of January, with District Governor Dr. Kameshwar Singh Elangbam as our Chief Guest, joined by Past DG Dr. Debashish Das and AG Dr. Kmen Lato as Guests of Honour. It was a day of joy, fellowship, and new purpose.

We owe a heartfelt thank you to our sponsor club, the @rotaryorchidcity Shillong, and especially our club proposer, Rtn. Barnabas Nongbah & club advisor, Rtn. Bedarius Shylla, for guiding and supporting us every step of the way.

Led by our Charter President, Rtn. @michellesyiemlieh PHF: a lawyer and writer, and Charter Secretary, Rtn. @adrian_deilang : a businessman and community builder, we are a young, vibrant club of Rotarians, driven by passion, energy, and a shared commitment to Service Above Self.

We are ready to learn, grow, and serve together. We aim to create impact, build friendships, and light the way for new dreams in and around our beautiful city of Shillong.

Ferrando Transit Shelter Home, you made our Christmas! 🎄🤍

This year, we asked the girls what they really needed, and their answer was simple: warm sweaters. So we showed up with sweaters, colours, and snacks. And then watched them ignore the snacks for a 3-hour colouring marathon, followed by singing and dancing that none of us wanted to end.

We also ran a little “Dear Santa” surprise: each girl wrote a wish: water bottles, tiffin bags, colouring pens, socks, or even “anything you give me.” On Christmas morning, the tree was full and so were their hands and hearts, each child opening gifts with the kind of excitement only Santa can get credit for.

Grateful to have spent Christmas like this; quietly, joyfully, and exactly where we were meant to be.

Rotary Club of Shillong Highlands (RID 3240) is honoured to share our Charter Project: the construction of a new home for a family of nine in Mawkhanu Village, East Khasi Hills, and the distribution of winter and household essentials to neighbouring families. Led by our Secretary, Rtn. Adrian Pohrmen, and Service Project Chair, Rtn. Hendrick Syiemlieh, this project reflects our commitment to Rotary values and to serving our local communities with compassion and integrity.

On 18.12.2025, we had the privilege of handing over the keys to the family; a moment of gratitude and hope for all of us as a young club starting its journey of service above self.
