Today Serg was recognized for receiving the Will Hancock Memorial Scholarship this year . He was able to spend time with the Hancock family and hear their stories about Will. Very proud of @serg.thomas_ and grateful for the opportunities he’s been given.

why share the proper photos when you can share the fun ones? been having so much fun I forgot to post! so here’s a mini life update of the last 5 months 🫶🏻

✅ finished my Masters degree as a graduate assistant for the best school and softball program in the country 🧡 @osusoftball
✅ did it with the bestest friends I could ever ask for (and best bullpen catchers in the whole 🌎)
✅ took maybe one too many glizzy breaks during 5th inning stretch 🌭
✅ Calf Fry and The Boys of Oklahoma because who doesn’t love country music 🤠
✅ said goodbye to my college home and the best roommates a girl could ask for 🥹
✅ signed to play pro softball as my big girl job!?!?!? yes please! 🩵
✅ and soooooo many more core memories that I could go on for hours about 😇

“The Observers”

Often in my time filming sports I’ve found myself simply observing and filming. The fly on the wall mentality runs deep in my mind. “Behind Home Plate”, however, I made it a personal mission of mine to kick the doors in.

The observer wanted to be IN the action and building relationships, making sure folks felt comfortable with the stranger and the camera; something that I normally don’t consider is possible - because I’m just a cameraman.

Our time with this project, over 1,000 hours to be exact, and our time with the Cowgirls, wherever they took us (close to 5,000 miles) has come to an end.

Never in my life would I imagine the final out would cause such a strong emotional reaction, but the relationships built and the time spent “observing” will do that to a guy.

I’m proud of our work, @hurrdatsports
I’m proud of your guys’ fight and family oriented atmosphere @osusoftball
I’m proud of the representation by @mizunofastpitchusa

The last thing to do on this project is wrap it up with a final episode that does this season, this experience and this program justice.

Stay tuned 🎬
