POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
The newest episode of Starlit Studios: Where Artists Speak is here! This week I'm talking with Elise Morissette, a New Hampshire printmaker, educator, and book artist. Elise's work explores the connection between art, nature, memory, storytelling, and community. We dive into her journey from illustration into printmaking and book arts, her love of intaglio and copper plate etching, and her Leaf Litter work that brings pieces of the natural world into the printing process. 🌱 We also talk about something I think so many creatives can relate to: finding your people. Elise opens up about mentors, shared studios, creative communities, major life changes, and what happens when a community you've relied on disappears. And one of my favorite takeaways from our conversation is the idea that maybe artists don't need to spend so much time worrying about finding a "style." Maybe we should be focusing more on what we want to say and the stories we want to tell. 🎧 Listen now on Spotify! Elise Morissette @serotonin_studio is an NH artist and framer who focuses on printmaking and bookmaking. Her work explores sentimental experiences and scientific discoveries. She has a BFA from New Hampshire Institute of Art, and has been deepening her connections in her art community through galleries in New England and serving the city of Dover on the Dover Art Commission.⁣ ⁣ Elise uses block print to tie into everyday fun and whimsy. She uses etching to deepen her knowledge of nature and its ecosystems. Her bookmaking is a beautiful blend of everything in between.⁣ ⁣ #printmaking #etching #chasesgarage

HAVE YOU GOT THE GUTS?! Art ‘Round the Room is an event unlike any other: a speed dating-style event geared toward adults...without the dating. Instead of dating people, you’re dating art mediums! 🤩 The goal isn’t to finish a piece of art (though you probably will have some to take home) but rather to play, experiment, learn, and have fun! No previous art experience is required. Art ‘Round the Room will be held on Sunday, November 16th, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM at The Derryfield School, at 2108 River Road, Manchester, NH 03104. This year’s mediums include oil paints, acrylic paints, watercolor, pastels, charcoals, collage, metalworks, and printmaking. This is a fun and magical event, with @durkishdelights coming back again as our DJ! 🎨🎨🎨 Get your tickets at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/art-round-the-room—2025! #NewHampshire #ManchesterNH #NHLocal #NHLife #NHPeeps #NHRocks #NHArts #NHHappenings #NHEvents #NHThingsToDo #CreativeGuts #DerryfieldSchool #CreativeGutsPodcast @derryfieldarts @artsybarsi @artfulharperstudios @hannahcoledahar @arthousejb @joeacone @serotonin_studio @haleysearcyart @a_graceful_melancholy @byfallonrae @katemcgirlver
