Kenshi Kamaro makes his Sound Avenue debut with Birds of Prey, a five-track package that moves the Swiss artist into the main catalogue after years within the wider label group. He first appeared on Madloch's imprints through 3rd Avenue, with remixes of J.P. Velardi & NAHS' Her Sigh and Albuquerque & Foletto's Splendid Sunrise. His Tuvalu EP followed in 2020, with Tuvalu, Breath, Heartbeat and Flygirl. More recently he returned with the Free Your Mind EP, adding Your Everything and Fixing Colors.
Birds of Prey brings two new originals, the title track and 4u, plus three remixes from artists who each have their own history with the label. Robert R. Hardy and Servando both take on Birds of Prey. Hardy returns after a long absence, his connection going back to the remix of Kastis Torrau & Arnas D's Eye, one of the enduring tracks in the Sound Avenue catalogue, included on the 5Y SA Remix Sampler. Servando is back after his debut on Correlation, Vol. 6 in 2023. British-born, US-based Nick Newman handles 4u, following his appearance on Correlation, Vol. 7 and his remix of Christopher K's Genesis just before the summer.
Birds of Prey closes the distance between Kamaro's years on 3rd Avenue and the flagship imprint. Two originals, three remixes, and a cast that connects the label's early catalogue with the artists shaping it now.
