I love my boy Loki, but it’s fun microdosing the big dog experience too. 💛

Solid hitting session last night with my tennis partner in crime @servingbanana — thankful his phone didn’t die like mine so I could see these 3 rallies I was very proud of 💥🎾🍌#tennisaddict #tennis #tennisplayer #tennislife

Target practice with a little ASMR. 🐥 Took wayyy too long.

Also discovered there’s an artist on Spotify that covers songs with rubber chicken squeaks. 💀

Recorded with @racquetview 💛

CourtSide Stories #119:

This is tennis player Zack Ballantine or as some people may know him, Banana Daddy.
This is his starry:
.
“ I come from a tennis family but didn’t pick up a racket until I was 36. My Memaw spotted my Granddaddy playing at a country club (he was boys with Bobby Riggs) and that’s how my mum came to be.

My high school sweetheart chose tennis over me sophomore year. I was devastated.

Fast forward to 2023, I was 247 lbs, lost, and suicidal, but I found a new love. 5 months of tennis & keto later, I was 194 lbs and the world was not as dark.

I love the aspect of self improvement, the people you meet, and the “no way you got that ball” moments. I’ve walked off court countless times thinking “that’s the best match I’ve ever played yet” and the key word is “yet”.

I find the stuffy players really do not like losing to the guy in the banana kit with an “emotional support” rubber chicken named Coach Carl. I originally bought him for ASMR target practice, but now he is part of the journey.

Eventually I found CC Tennis Club, run by a husband and wife team, David & Terri. No stuffy vibes, just purist tennis and their black lab, Gracie. I built their website and shot content on spec, which led to me being hired as the Director of Marketing & Innovation.

SwingVision changed everything for me. I found it 7 months into playing and now have over 300 recorded sessions. It’s been the biggest help besides coaching. By tracking patterns, watching mistakes, and analyzing shot choices, I can use the data to get better.

My long photo/film career is being disrupted by AI, so I’ve been using CC Tennis Club as a training ground to develop the skills I need to work in tennis tech. My dream? To work for SwingVision. I want to help more players get the most of out of tennis and grow the sport.

You’re only ever an adjustment or two away from becoming the best version of yourself. Tennis gave me a future, and for the first time, it looks bright.”
