This week marked a historic and emotional moment for generations of students, alumni, families, educators, and community members connected to the legacy of Northern High School and the future of Reginald F. Lewis High School of Business & Law.

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the Baltimore City Public Schools Board officially voted in favor of the renaming/merger proposal establishing the school as Reginald F. Lewis High School at The Northern Campus.

This decision represents far more than a name. It represents unity, legacy, HEALING, collaboration, and a commitment to honoring both the rich history of Northern High School and the continued excellence and future of Reginald F. Lewis High School of Business & Law. After months of conversations, advocacy, organizing, meetings, forums, outreach, and community engagement, the voices of the people were heard.

We extend sincere gratitude to every single person who stood with us during this movement and participated in the process. Thank you to the students, staff, families, alumni, and supporters of Reginald F. Lewis High School of Business & Law. Thank you to the former students, staff, and families of Northern High School, Samuel L. Banks, and W.E.B. DuBois. Thank you to the surrounding community members, neighbors, advocates, and supporters who took the time to vote both in person and online and who helped ensure that all voices mattered in this process.

THIS VICTORY BELONGS TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY!

To the Northern Vikings community — your perseverance, passion, and unwavering commitment to preserving the Northern legacy helped make this possible. Many fought for years to ensure that the history, memories, traditions, and impact of Northern High School would never be forgotten. Your dedication proved that legacy still matters.

To the RFL students and families — thank you for embracing the importance of building a bridge between the past and the future. This merger was never about taking away from the excellence of Reginald F. Lewis High School. Instead, it was about creating something stronger together — a campus where legacy and opportunity can coexist.

HISTORY WAS MADE THIS WEEK!

Yesterday, camp got a special treat, “She’s Got Flavas” @set4lyfe pulled up and blessed us with the coldest break we didn’t know we needed! 🍧💨
Huge thank you for bringing the chill and the flava!
The only thing cooler than the treats was watching some try to survive brain freeze 😅🧊 #CampLife #ShesGotFlavas #SummerSaved #BrainFreezeBattles #YouthArtInstitute @jelmaatmorgan

And this was only a small snippet of DAY 1 of @set4lyfe 45th birthday cruise on @virginvoyages #ValiantLady. Within about 8 hours we boarded the ship, had the BEST ice cream ever, had drinks, dinner, dessert, margaritas with CRICKETS 🦗, private karaoke room, free champagne, more drinks, PJ party, grown folks on swings/see-saw, played basketball, got in the boxing 🥊 ring, danced, and had PLENTY of laughs!
