We had a great day at MFL2025

The waves were on, the crew were styling and the event was exactly what we knew it would be.

Somehow Gizzy always manages to turn on some waves for us and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Welcome to MFL 2025
Here is your itinerary for the weekend:

Friday 31st 6pm meet at Wainui Church opposite @zephyr.wainui for mihi whakatau and registration. @neighbourhood_cantina is a good option for food afterward.

Saturday 1st 7am first heat in the water with run time until mid afternoon

5pm @makafirstlight party at @neighbourhood_cantina with @set_waves_band

Sunday 2nd 7am Finals day (we reckon why not hold the finals in the morning glass.

Finals followed by prize giving and board draw by @mojohandshapesnz

We can’t wait to see you.

We are nearly there!

Fish fest event details.
Venue will be decided closer to the time so keep an eye on social media for an update. It might be whales it might be creeks or it might be schools 😂.

8am registration - those that missed out please come down as we will replace you as we go with no shows.

8.30am surfing begins finished by 2.15pm

Tee- shirts can be payed for and picked up at rego we have a slow eftpos machine so bring you $$$. (35)

Food won't be available at the venue unless anyone wishes to sell food get in touch!. Drinks will be.

4pm is our offical prizegiving at @tatapouribay with live music from @set_waves_band 👏 family friendly.

Twins only apparently a jet or a 2 + 1 is not a twin - that's from the contest director✌️. If you have any to share please bring them our groms are struggling to find anything to ride!.

More fish fest fun for all.

The fish fest is fast approaching and surfing for this event will run on December 2nd from 8.30am - 2.30pm. Location decided on the day. We have been lucky enough to have @tatapouri hosting our prizegiving party from 4pm.

We have a few prizes to give out then live music from @set_waves_band. There will be food and drinks available ($10 koha for food 🍲 ) the evening will wrap up around 8pm.

Thanks to Dylan from setwaves for the artwork! And always @dont_worry_be_pappy for organising!.

After a hectic Saturday, offshores return to Gizzy tomorrow. Temps jump too from 15 today to 23 degrees on Monday. Yeow! Thanks @regtheleg22 for the shot and @set_waves_band for the tune.

APRÈS SURF 2023 went off! We were treated to incredible live performances by @set_waves_band , @michael_llewellyn_ & AM Graham. We think it was the best APRÈS SURF to date & hope you all enjoyed the new waterfront venue.
