“Jiu-Jitsu forges friendships in a way I’ve never known. Being involved in art as intimate as this, where the bodily connection is a must, the common cultural boundaries of personal space are broken. You will never see more hugs, high fives, and physical expressions of love than on the mats. Ultimately, this proves to be one of the most fulfilling aspects of our pursuit of mastery. Along the way, we learn to love others as we love ourselves.” ― Chris Matakas

I know this is COMPLETELY unrelated to anything I’ve been sharing lately, but I’ve realized….

1. It’s been almost 6 months since this day and I’ve hardly shared all the things I loved about it

2. I miss my friends so stinking much right now and thinking back to when we were all together makes my heart happy. Okay? Okay.

And plus, it’s Instagram soooo I’m gonna share what makes me happy😄

Anywho, the fact that these guys were part of the crew standing up beside me will always be one of my many favorite things about that day. :,)

By sheer coincidence, some of my favorite people live in my favorite state. And I’m super okay with that.

As much as I love this state tho, I’ve never actually exploited their neck of the woods and it was so fun to finally do that! We went up to a spot we’re you could see Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, and Adams (and I want to say Hood too??) and I was a bit surreal seeing all that at once. Goodness gracious.
