Such a cool lifer I saw in Montana! 🪶

This big billed dude flew into the grass right in time for me to take a picture of it while it was raining pretty heavily & curled up to take a little nap right after it glanced at me. I was extremely surprised his bill fit under his wing. 😂🫢

Fun fact: The Long Billed Curlew is the biggest shore bird in the USA even though it compares to a Whimbrel it is not nearly as tall!

A cool bird to see especially in the rain (zoom in to see some rain droplets) 📸🌧️

That’s a wrap for the ‘22 season. We’re greatly appreciative of our many valued clients who fished with us this year. A special thanks to the stellar @stillwateranglers guide crew who made it all happen; Seth, Jay, Luke, Richard, JD and Kirk. Also, a shoutout to the many individuals and small businesses throughout the region and state who provided invaluable support to our business; shuttle drivers, lunch providers, fly shops and fly fishing supplies businesses, website managers, and many others. Now to rest up, hunker down for the winter, give the fish a break and gear up for next spring. Hope to see you all again next season! Tight lines! Chris

My lady treated me to a float trip with guide extraordinaire Seth, aka @troutbuster today on the North Fork. An absolutely stunning day. The bite was on from the git go. We caught 4 species including a Tiger Trout. Thanks Donna and Seth for a great day! 🐟🎣
