The 78th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, for the very first time in its history, included Associate Casting Directors in their respective casting categories. A year ago, Alexa Pereira, Steven Tylor O’Connor, and myself set out to petition the TV Academy to include Associates in the ceremony this year. Our then TV Academy Casting Governors, Marc Hirschfeld and Megan Sleeper, were instrumental in championing the inclusion of Associates. Then, with additional support from the overwhelming number of so many Casting Directors we know and love, we received official word this past January that we had done it.

I know I can speak for Alexa and Steven when I say it’s one of the proudest moments of our careers so far. Trophies are great, but the visibility of what we do and its vitality to the creative process is really what it’s all about.

Bravo to history-makers, Seth Caskey, Associate Casting Director of The Pitt and Jennifer Brooks, Associate Casting Director of Love Story. Your work speaks for itself and we’re so damn honored that you were the first to pave the way ❤️

I love this man. He is a dreamer who never quits. He is always asking the questions to reach what is next. He wakes up everyday and works to be a better version of himself than he was yesterday. He loves his job. He works tirelessly, and he continues to push himself every day. I love experiencing his joy at cheering others forward and the thrill when he sees others succeed. What an absolute joy to see him recognized for his work on The Pitt and this dream come true.
I remain overwhelmed with joy, gratitude and love. Congratulations my love. Wildly proud of you. Always.
