First NFC in the books. It was amazing to have so many friends around all celebrating what I now consider my home river. I was beyond stoked to piece together a mighty S Turn lap and go 5th overall in qualifying. Honored to have gone off the ramp, who knew racing Jake’s would be so hard!
Congrats @sagekayak for winning and putting down such a dominant first lap in finals, all while managing your energy and blood sugar levels. Getting to watch all your preparation first hand, I can’t say I was very surprised on the results

Thank you @northforkchampionship for returning and thank you @sethezekielwest for the last picture of Sage and I celebrating a successful nfc

This weekend I was watching the next generation of French slalom paddlers compete on the top of Bourg’s slalom course, for a lot of racers the struggle was real but it was such a cool event to watch, and some legit kayaking ! Dropping into Jake’s at the @northforkchampionship is a lot like racing on Bourg (maybe more like it on steroids) you’re scared, the gates are hard, and it makes some of the best racing there is in whitewater 🙌 My hope for the sport is that beyond federation politics and whatever required standards, we can have more slalom races in Bourg and more extreme kayaking races as stout as NFC. #thisiskayaking
